Students

Kellogg Corps' projects are available for all 2nd-year Kellogg Students. Projects are typically 3-6 weeks long, beginning after the end of the classes (the actual length and dates are defined by the students and the host organization). The projects are on a range of projects, defined according to the needs of the nonprofit organizations and to the interests of Kellogg students. Typical Kellogg Corps projects address issues such as developing business plans for micro-enterprises, designing marketing strategies, teaching technical business skills, and assessing market opportunities.

What Kellogg Corps offers to Kellogg Students

  • International professional experience
  • Exposure to work in emerging markets
  • Opportunity to give back and serve
  • Immersion in a different culture
  • Capstone Kellogg experience

Project Application Process

There are two different ways to participate in a Kellogg Corps project. You can either volunteer with one of our partner NGOs OR work with us to organize your own project. There will be a slightly different process for each.

Partner Organization Projects

  • Available projects with our partner organization will be presented at the beginning of winter quarter.
  • Applications (HERE) will be available starting 12/01/07 and should be submitted via our website.
  • You will apply individually, but will be asked to indicate if you are part of a team.
  • Team applications will be given priority when allocating projects. If you do not have a team, we will try to match you with others in a similar situation if open places remain.
  • The first application deadline will be February 2nd, 2008 (02/02/08).
  • There will be a second application deadline on February 16th, 2008 (02/16/08) if there are still open positions after the first round.

Self Organized Projects

  • You have the opportunity to receive funding and Kellogg Corps support to organize a project that meets Kellogg Corps criteria.
  • If you would like to organize your own project, you must submit a project proposal by 12/01/07 to Becky Frazzano (rfrazzano2008@kellogg.northwestern.edu). Click HERE for the project proposal document. This process will ensure that your project meets Kellogg Corps criteria in advance of the application deadline. NOTE: It is not necessary to have formed a team prior to submitting the project proposal.
  • After the project proposal has been approved, individual applications must be submitted by 02/02/08.
  • The remaining process will be identical to the process detailed above for the partner NGO projects.
